Back up your data to DVD

Your Phoenix system data is automatically backed up daily to another workstation. However, off-site backup enables data recovery in case of a total system failure, natural disaster, fire, or theft. We recommend that you update your off-site backup DVD at least weekly, rotating and storing DVDs in a secure location.

To backup to DVD, go to your POS station that is a tower computer (if you have one). If you don't have a tower, use any workstation. Make sure a writeable DVD is in the drive.

  1. Go to Windows start, choose Programs > Nero 7 Essentials > Nero StartSmart Essentials

  2. Click "Favorites"

  3. Click "Make Data DVD"

  4. Click "ADD"

  5. Double click "My Computer"

  6. Double click "linux_push"

  7. Single click "backup" to select the folder, then click "ADD"

  8. Click "NEXT"

  9. Make sure the current recorder is set to D: TSSTcorp CDDVDW; click BURN

  10. When burn is complete, remove DVD from drive, label with the date and store securely.
