"We've Posted a Profit Every Month Since Installing Phoenix."

Known for making "The Best Pizza in Town," the Galea family has an eye for quality. So it was no surprise that the family replaced their outdated DOS-based system with the best POS system in town: Phoenix™ Point-of-Sale from FireFly Technologies.

"We're a full-service operation," says Adam Galea, manager at the G's Pizzeria in Traverse City, Mich. "We have large restaurants; the one in West Branch has five dining rooms and can seat up to 400 people. Since opening in 1983, we've been known for our friendly customer service and for providing a great place to dine."

Dishing Up Great Table and Bar Service
"Our servers love how visual Phoenix is," Adam says. "They can recall their orders by simply clicking on the table on the screen. It's a great convenience–especially when we're busy."

"Phoenix blows our old system away," says Adam's brother Chris Galea, who's a manager at the store in West Branch. "All of the bar items fit on one screen–and that includes our draft beers. We can even specify a short Bud Light or a tall Bud Light. It's a one-touch system for the bottles. At our new Lake Orion location, the bar will seat 25 to 30 people. Phoenix will be a great help there."

"Phoenix is also great for deliveries," says Adam. "I like the online mapping feature, and how the system tracks orders if they're running late."

Remote Access for Total Control
"I can check daily sales, labor percentage, whatever I need from my laptop," Chris says. "Whether I'm at home or on the road, Phoenix keeps me in touch."

Adam agrees. "I use the remote access feature at my house to get an up-to-the-minute update on what's going on. For instance, if the labor percentage is too high, I can call the manager and tell them to send someone home."

Phoenix Reports: All You Need to Know
"Phoenix has great daily, weekly, monthly, even yearly reports that I can access immediately," Chris says. "With our old system we had to go hunting through back-up disks to find the right report.

"Our dad and grandparents are not as into computers as we are. Phoenix makes it easy to show them what's going on. We use less paper because we don't have to print off reports every morning."

Manager's Home Page: A Dashboard View of Your Business
"From the Manager's Home page, I can view general store summaries on payout expenses, inventory, and labor," says Chris. "Every day we match the summary numbers to the total expected numbers."

"The Manager's Home page tells me instantly what's going on at the store," says Adam. It's easier to track customers and their orders. Phoenix gives me rapid access to the information I need."

Reinventing Inventory
"Phoenix tells us how much of an item we sold in a day," Adam says. "We're setting up inventory for items such as pizza so we can manage our food costs and limit waste. For instance, if we sell 10 pizzas in 30 minutes, the system will automatically deduct the number of pepperonis from the inventory level. With Phoenix, I'll only have to do inventory twice a month instead of every week."

Reliable Timesaver
"Phoenix is a reliable system," says Chris. "We've had no problems with system crashes. Plus it saves me time. I no longer have to come in half an hour early to set up the printers and reset the sales figures and save them to disk.

"For deferred orders, Phoenix works really well. We use it all the time to book parties for hundreds of people. We can enter notes at the bottom. The system even sends a reminder a day or two in advance."

Support You Can Rely On
Both Adam and Chris give kudos to FireFly's technical support, saying they return calls quickly. "FireFly's support has been helpful," says Chris. "The system's remote access feature lets technicians log into our system and show me in real time what they are doing. Problems are solved quickly that way."
