FireFly Introduces Ithaca POSJet 1000 Receipt Printers

Tired of printer ribbons that dry up on the shelf, or need to be changed every week? You might want to consider the newest receipt printer technology - the Ithaca POSJet 1000.

This printer uses Ink Jet technology to provide high quality, extremely fast, two color printing at an excellent value. The ink cartridges, which are sold individually and are available in black, red, green or blue, last more than five times longer than the typical ribbon, according to the pizza operators we've talked to.

Unlike Epson printers, the Ithacas are completely interchangeable with the Star printers on the RapidFire system, once they have been properly configured. "This is important," explains Operations manager Kevin Clements, "because since the connectors are the same, you can easily mix and match Star and Ithaca printers on the system without any problems."

"Keep in mind, the Ithaca printers do require configuration and programming in order to work with the RapidFire point-of-sale system. This is something we do at our office before sending them to the client. Off-the-shelf purchases of Ithaca printers will not be compatible."

The Ithaca printers are available in tear or auto-cut models for $295 and $345 respectively.
